Team Leader at Lifeline Community Care: Trudy led the Family Services team, overseeing the support provided to families in crisis and supervising volunteer telephone counsellors. She provided supervision, debriefing and support after difficult calls and helped volunteers maintain their emotional well-being while serving the community.
Senior Social Worker at a Queensland Health’s Palliative Care Centre: As a Senior Social Worker, Trudy provided bereavement counselling to patients and families facing end-of-life issues. In addition to her clinical work, she mentored and supervised students, ensuring high-quality care while fostering a compassionate learning environment. The hospital was a teaching hospital and Trudy's role included community education and guest speaking roles at James Cook University.
Ten Years in Private Practice: For the past decade, Trudy has operated her own private practice, specialising in trauma therapy, PTSD, ADHD and general mental health support. Her special interest is in couples counselling. She is a current member of The Couples Institute.
